What is taken from the literature?
Fibre structure, lumen proportion, buoyancy and flammability, each cited to the work that established it.
Those are settled questions with published answers, and repeating the experiment badly would add nothing to them.
What does this site produce itself?
Counts of published material: a stated number of sources read on a stated date, with the totals shown.
It is the only original thing here and it is described in exactly those terms. Every kapok pillow in the picks was bought and handled, yet this site owns no instruments and publishes no measurement of any of them.
What triggers a correction?
A superseded source, a page rewritten after it was read, or a reader demonstrating an error anywhere on the site.
The correction is written into the sentence that was wrong, and the date below it changes.
